Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before engaging our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By engaging CarterPi Solutions for any services, you agree to these Terms of Service. These terms form a binding agreement between you and CarterPi Solutions.

2. Services Description

CarterPi Solutions provides custom Raspberry Pi configuration and installation services, including:

  • Custom NAS (Network Attached Storage) systems
  • WiFi hotspot configurations
  • Home file server setups
  • Hardware installation and configuration
  • System testing and quality assurance
  • On-site installation services

3. Payment Terms

FULL PAYMENT REQUIRED BEFORE PRODUCTION: All customers must provide full payment for the complete project before any production work begins. This includes:

  • 100% of hardware costs
  • 100% of labor costs
  • 100% of any additional service fees

No work will commence until full payment has been received and confirmed.

4. Project Delivery and Installation

Upon completion of configuration and testing, CarterPi Solutions will either:

  • Deliver the configured system to the customer, OR
  • Install the system at the customer's designated location

All systems undergo thorough testing to ensure hardware functionality before delivery or installation.

5. Post-Delivery Responsibility

CRITICAL: CarterPi Solutions is NOT responsible for anything that happens to the product after it is out of our possession.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Physical damage during transport or handling
  • Environmental damage (water, heat, electrical surges, etc.)
  • Software modifications made by the customer
  • Network configuration changes
  • Power supply issues
  • Any damage resulting from improper use or installation

Once the product leaves our possession or is installed at the customer's location, all responsibility for the system transfers to the customer.

6. Hardware Lifespan and SSD/HDD Policy

SSDs and HDDs do not last forever. These components have finite lifespans and will eventually fail due to normal wear and tear.

Replacement Service Available: CarterPi Solutions offers replacement services for failed storage devices, subject to the following conditions:

  • Customer must pay for the replacement hardware at current market rates
  • Customer must pay for labor costs to reconfigure the Raspberry Pi to register the new storage device
  • Replacement service is optional and not included in original project costs
  • No warranty is provided on replacement hardware beyond manufacturer warranty

7. Third-Party Equipment Exclusions

NO EXEMPTIONS FOR THIRD-PARTY EQUIPMENT: If any equipment not installed by CarterPi Solutions is added to the Raspberry Pi system and causes the system to fail, CarterPi Solutions is explicitly NOT responsible for any resulting issues.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Additional storage devices
  • USB peripherals
  • Network adapters
  • Power supplies
  • Cooling systems
  • Any hardware modifications
  • Software installations or modifications

If third-party equipment causes system failure, the customer is solely responsible for all repair costs and any resulting data loss.

8. Warranty and Support

CarterPi Solutions provides a limited warranty covering:

  • Manufacturing defects in hardware (subject to manufacturer warranty)
  • Initial configuration issues discovered within 30 days of delivery

Warranty Exclusions:

  • Any damage occurring after delivery/installation
  • Failures caused by third-party equipment
  • Environmental damage
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Software modifications by the customer
  • Network or power supply issues

9. Limitation of Liability

CarterPi Solutions' liability is strictly limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question. Under no circumstances will CarterPi Solutions be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of data or business interruption
  • Damages exceeding the original service cost
  • Any damages resulting from third-party equipment or modifications

10. Refunds

ALL SALES ARE FINAL. No refunds will be provided unless required by applicable law.

11. Changes to Terms

CarterPi Solutions reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any modified terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Oklahoma. CarterPi Solutions is a local business operating within the State of Oklahoma.
